80 Truth or Dare questions and dares

Choose Truth or Dare, answer honestly or take the challenge. Start with the quick, funny prompts or move towards revealing questions and bolder dares when everyone is comfortable.
For adults aged 18+. Alcohol is optional.

How to play Truth or Dare

Sit in a circle and choose a starting player. Ask them “Truth or Dare?” If they choose Truth, give them a question to answer honestly. If they choose Dare, give them a challenge to complete. Move to the next player and repeat.
Agree before starting that anybody can skip a prompt without explaining why. Keep dares safe, legal and inside the room, and never treat drinking as the price of saying no.
QUICK RULES

PLAY THROUGH MESSY TIMES

Ready to play Truth or Dare?

Messy Times chooses and shuffles the prompts while players decide Truth or Dare on each turn. Play together on one device or create a private multiplayer room.

How Truth or Dare works in Messy Times

ONE DEVICE

Pass one phone

Enter 2–12 player names, then pass the device around. The named player chooses Truth or Dare and receives a shuffled prompt of that type. The game moves through players in order, reshuffles an exhausted queue without immediately repeating the last prompt, and continues until somebody ends it. One Device play works completely offline.
MULTIPLAYER ROOM

Share each turn

Create or join a private room with a six-character code. A game starts with 2–12 players; the current player chooses Truth or Dare and every device shows the same prompt. Turns move around the starting players until the host ends the game. Reactions are available, and multiplayer requires an internet connection.

Clean and adult prompts in the app

Messy Times has one Truth pool and one Dare pool, with individual prompts tagged as adult where appropriate. Adult Content is off by default. When it is off, adult-tagged prompts are filtered out rather than presented as a separate pack.
In a multiplayer lobby, the host can enable adult prompts only when Adult Content is enabled in their own settings. If the host includes them, that room choice is authoritative for everybody in the game. Use it only with a consenting adult group.

House rules worth agreeing first

Decide how many skips each player gets, or allow unlimited skips for the simplest consent rule. You can set a gentle time limit for choosing, let the group offer two possible dares, or play a fixed number of rounds. Those are optional house rules: Messy Times itself has no score, winner or automatic final round.

Frequently asked questions

How many people do you need for Truth or Dare?

Two people can play, although a larger group creates more variety. Messy Times supports 2–12 named players on One Device and 2–12 players in a private multiplayer room.

Can you play without alcohol?

Yes. Truth or Dare does not require drinking. The choice, answer and challenge are the complete game.

Can a player skip a truth or dare?

Yes. Messy Times tells players they may skip any prompt. In One Device play, moving to the next player advances the turn; there is no separate skip button.

Does the player choose Truth or Dare?

Yes. On every turn in both Messy Times modes, the current player chooses the type before the prompt appears.

Does Truth or Dare have a winner?

Not in Messy Times. There is no voting, score or automatic completion. Players continue taking turns until the One Device game is ended or the multiplayer host ends the room’s game.

What happens when the prompts run out?

Truth and Dare prompts are kept in separate shuffled queues. When either queue is exhausted, Messy Times reshuffles that type and avoids immediately repeating its previous prompt.

Make saying no easy

A dare needs the player’s consent. Keep challenges away from traffic, flames, heights, property damage, private accounts and unsuspecting people outside the game. Let anybody skip or stop without pressure. If you add alcohol, keep it optional and never use rapid or excessive drinking as a dare. Messy Times is for adults aged 18+ who are of legal drinking age in their country or region.
